Using a thesaurus

Thesauri provide lists of synonyms for search terms. Using a thesaurus, a search using a single term returns all entries containing the term or any synonym.

To search using a thesaurus, start the BioRS Integration and Retrieval System application and log in (described in the quick-search tour).

The databank tree will appear. Select the databanks to be queried. The name of the selected databank, UNIPROT_TREMBL and UNIPROT_SPROT in this example, appear in the right panel.
