Performing a basic search — selecting the ranking method

Selecting the ranking method

Select the method used to rank the results.

  • Frequency — ranked by how often the co-occurrences are found; most frequent terms ranked first
  • Probability — ranked by the probability of the co-occurrence; most probable terms ranked first
  • Alphabet — ranked alphabetically
  • Chi square — ranked using the chi square formula
  • Cosine — ranked using the cosine formula
  • Mutual frequency — ranked using the mutual-frequency formula
  • Product of frequency — ranked using the product-of-frequency formula

After the options have been set, click the "Search" button. (Note: the default settings are often appropriate for a first iteration search.)

All terms in the selected dictionary, which occur with the search expression, will be displayed in a tree structure in the left panel.
