Performing a basic search — selecting a dictionary and setting the search options

Selecting a dictionary and setting the search options

Select a dictionary from the drop-down menu by clicking it. Note: select the "none" option to search for single occurrences of the search expression.

Set the range of the search.

  • Sentence — returns only co-occurrences of the terms found in the same sentence (more precise search)
  • Text — returns co-occurrences found anywhere in the complete text (less precise search, but more results)

Select search options for recognizing acronyms or synonyms.

  • Synonyms — returns co-occurrences containing the search term and synonyms to the search term
  • Acronyms — tries to resolve ambiguous acronyms in the results (e.g., the acronym "er" may be resolved to "estrogen receptor" or "endoplasmic reticulum")
