Introduction
The BioLT Literature Mining Tool extracts knowledge from the MEDLINE database. It provides intuitive, structured, efficient text mining using curated biological and medical term dictionaries. It manages non-standardized descriptions, ambiguity and synonyms. Search results can be easily shared, extended and updated, and provide starting points for the generation and refinement of new knowledge and hypotheses. The BioLT tool can be customized to extract information from other complex, heterogeneous text databases.
This tutorial will show you the main features of the BioLT Literature Mining Tool and how to perform a basic search, which finds results containing both the search expression and any term in the selected dictionary. These results are referred to as "co-occurrences."
