Biomax founder Prof. Dr. D. Frishman
Prof. Dmitrij Frishman received his PhD in biochemistry from the
Russian Academy of Sciences and worked for five years in the group of
Prof. P. Argos as a research fellow at the European Molecular Biology
Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg, Germany. Between 1996 and 2003 he was
a senior scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry and
Deputy Director of the Institute for Bioinformatics at the German
National Center for Health and Environment. He is currently Professor
of Bioinformatics at the Technical University of Munich.
Prof. Frishman's work focuses on genome bioinformatics, with emphasis on systematic computational analysis of all known genomes. He also works on special fields of research including protein sequence analysis, protein structure prediction, structural genomics, gene prediction and the use of intelligent systems and machine learning in molecular biology.
Prof. Frishman developed the widely used Pedant-Pro Sequence Analysis Suite. As one of the co-founders of Biomax Informatics AG, he is responsible for the scientific support of a number of projects.
